Outlook Express disconnecting VPN Connection

As you know Windows and Outlook Express treat VPN connection as a dial-up connection. Outlook Express has a setting that disconnects dial-up connections after sending and receiving mail in order to free up your phone line. Since Outlook Express considers your VPN connection to be the same as a dial-up connection, it may disconnect you. To disable this feature:

In Outlook Express, from the Tools menu, select Options.
Click the Connection tab, and then uncheck the box labeled Hang Up After Sending and Receiving.

You are done !

  1. Hi Durga,

I tried your step but still no avail.
Actually when I attach a big file say approx or more than 500 kb and then send. It will diconnect my VPN connection and then I have to restart my laptop after which all mails sends fine without disconnecting VPN even the mails with large file attached. I am having so much problem with this issue as sometimes this DC VPN at important times and I have to restart my laptop to connect VPN again and send mail
