I tried reinstalling Microsoft Office but still I could get the same error while opening any of word, excel file …

then I realize there is something related to 32/64 bit conflict issues … then I uninstall Microsoft Office and install

by getting in to the 64bit installer for Microsoft Office. which solved the problem. I could now able to open word, excel

and successfully applied the license key.

As the windows OS (windows 7) 64 bit and some of the components like Visual C++ already installed in the machine.

and while I was trying to install Microsoft Office, it some how was installing 32 bit which was not matching with the

previously installed Visual C++ so it was showing error, which could fixed by installing 64 bit Microsoft Office.

  1. There can be issues with 64 bit office, so a solution that worked with me was to uninstall the 64 bit Microsoft Access Database Engine, then download and instal the 32 bit version.

  2. P.s. May need to run ‘repair’ on Office under ‘Programs and Features’ before instaling 32 bit Microsoft Access Database Engine.

    • Yes Andrew…
that was one solution which I had mentioned . also there is another possible solution is to install all VC++ redistribute package and ms office of 32 bit version after removing any 64 bit instance if its already there.
