How to remove the Lock icon over a Folder in Windows 7– Right click the folder and select Properties.
— Go to Security tab and click Edit.
— Under Permissions for Shared Folder window, click on the Add button.
— Type in “Authenticated Users” in the field and click Ok.
— Click Ok to close all the remaining windows.
— The Lock icon is removed now.
